                WHO ARE WE |

                SAMARPAN was established in August 1996 as  a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). "Samarpan" is a unit of Child  Concern. "Samarpan" has the primary objective of Empowering Mentally  and other handicapped through economic rehabilitation approach & advance  technologies. It works for Mentally Retarded and other handicapped and  destitute children. Samarpan is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization. |

                In August, 1996 itself, SAMARPAN made a  beginning by Dr. Shivajee Kumar with less than 20 children in small rented  site, which was at Nala Road  in Patna (Bihar).  With support of people from various walk of life, Samarpan has now blossomed  into a fully registered unique organization being managed by cooperation of  parents, community members and involved donors. |

                Samarpan’s vision is that every individual and  family affected by intellectual disability in the state of Bihar (India)  has access to the information, advocacy, and skills they need to participate as  active citizens of our democracy and active members of their community. We work  to ensure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and  their families have the support they need to live an ordinary, decent life,  that is: |
